This is a crowd pleaser of a wine at a great price and has an interesting story to tell. It is made with the Primitivo grape, typical to Puglia, and made by a unique blend of duo Mark Shannon (from California) and Elvezia Sbalchiero (from Italy). Never boring!

Who makes this and where is it made?

Mark Shannon and Elvezia Sbalchiero are the producers behind this wine and have helped to make Primitivo a well taled about wine variety in Italy. The grapes originate from the heart of the Primitivo wine region, East of Taranto in Puglia.

Technical Details

The wine is made from 100% Primitivo from 70 – 100 year old vines. Residual Sugar is 3.6g/L. After pressing and destemming the grapes were fermented for 36 hours without intervention. The free run juice was drawn off and the must was cooled to 12°C. After racking the wine was kept in an underground cement vessel, where the temperature did not go over 10°C, until bottling.
