Description

The main wine of Chateau Grand-Puy-Lacoste, in Pauillac, which has been owned by the Borie family since 1978 and is now run by Francois Xavier Borie and his daughter Emeline. The grape blend is 78% Cabernet Sauvignon with 22% Merlot. This 2018 is rich and intense with ripe black fruits and black liquorice followed by hints of game and forest floor fruits. This is a touch fuller in body than the second wine, Lacoste Borie 2016, as it carries the typical Cabernet Sauvignon blackcurrant fruit and structure. It also has plenty of classic Bordeaux finesse and potential for complexity, a wine that will drink well with decanting now, or benefit from time spent cellaring for up to 8-10 years. 14.5%ABV
