SPRING SELECTION: Enjoy Domaine Maby’s Lirac, a hearty Southern Rhone red blend that gives Chateauneuf-du-Pape a run for its money. Discover the Tuscan area of Carmignano with Capezzana’s black-fruited Barco Reale, a great example of the Sangoviese grape. Try a wine from the Graves area, just south of Bordeaux city, for a delicious red Bordeaux, and compare with Clos des Cordeliers’ Saumur-Champigny, a lighter, herby red from the Cabernet Franc grape that matches lamb and roast vegetable dishes perfectly. For a red-fruited, juicy Pinot Noir, we have Ata Rangi’s Crimson, from the Martinborough region of New Zealand. Finally an Organic Malbec from the mountainous Uco Valley, in Argentina’s Mendoza region; by Domaine Bousquet, it’s brimming with cassis fruit and Andean freshness, with plenty of Malbec flavour too.
