Mercurey is found in the Cote Chalonnaise region of Burgundy and is considered one of the foremost Village Appellations in the area. This is a red wine made entirely from Pinot Noir and as the name ‘Framboisiere’ (Raspberry in French) suggests, is dominated by powerful red and black fruits including Raspberry, Strawberry and dark cherries. This is balanced with oak influence which imparts velvety tannins and an exceptional length on the finish alongside a pleasant minerality in its youth.
Domaine Faiveley was founded in 1825 by Pierre Faiveley and having remained in the family for seven generations is now managed by Erwan and Eve Faiveley. The estate comprises vineyards in many of the most prestigious appellations throughout Burgundy and with an uncompromising focus on quality they are ensuring the families heritage and traditions continues to be instilled within their wines. The Mercurey is aged for 13-14 months in oak barrels of varying age contributing to a rich, full bodied and firm mouthfeel which complements many dishes including Beef Wellington or a Chocolate cake. 13.5% ABV.
