This Chianti Classico is indeed a classic! Made by Giovanni Manetti from his vineyard in the Panzone part of Chianti, Tuscany, his family were originally terracotta makers (and they still are). They also make delicious, structured wines mainly from the Sangoviese grape variety. The word Classico refers to the original heartland of Chianti (the vineyards have grown and grown beyond the original area). This wine is a real step-up in quality from average Chianti; drinking well now but you might want to decant it or pour into a jug to aerate it and soften the firm structure, or it will age beautifully even in half bottle. 14.5% ABV.
