This wine is packed full of aromas of wild strawberry and raspberry jam leading to a palate of dark cherry and cassis. The tannins are well structured and has a racy acidity and impressive length.
Frederic Magnien is the 5th generation of the Magnien family to make wines here in this beautiful region of Burgundy. Chambolle Musigny is the name of the village and A.O.C where this wine originates and from where some of the best red wines of Burgundy are produced. In 1996 Frederic became a consultant and now buys grapes from top growers all over the Côtes de Nuits region. He strictly selects plots of vines over 40 years old and only choses the highest quality fruit. Seeking the best quality grapes lead Frederic to organic grape growing and the majority of grapes he now purchases have this status. He ages his wines in terracotta jars as well as oak barriques to put a unique stamp on his wines. This Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes will accompany deliciously with slow cooked beef. 13.5% ABV.
