Grand Village Bordeaux Superieur 2016 HALF (37.5cl)

Red, Bordeaux, France

In stock

The Guinaudeau family make a range of great Bordeaux, the most famous of which is Chateau Lafleur in the Pomerol appellation of Bordeaux. This doesn’t have quite the price tag nor the longevity of Lafleur, but it’s an excellent example of classic red Bordeaux that is a great wine with food too. 15% ABV.

Who makes this and where is it made?

This is made by the exceedingly talented Guinadeau family. Their most famous and illustrious wine is Chateau Lafleur, from their Pomerol vineyards. This is a considerably more modest price tag, but with plenty of red Bordeaux flavour.

Tasting notes

Ruby red colour with the tiniest hint of garnet colour at the rim of the glass, denoting a few years of age. The nose is a little reserved with all its red fruited, spice and herb character revealing itself on the medium-bodied palate.

Drink dates

Now till Winter 2023

Ideas for drinking/food matching

Intriguing, aged Bordeaux. It's a great food match, a brilliant entertaining wine. Without food, the typical tannins of Bordeaux mean plenty of structure and a dry finish. If you normally drink fruitier, softer wines, stick to matching this with food.
