In our humble opinion, Rully offers some of the best value wines to be found within Burgundy. Producing both red and white wine from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay respectively, Rully is located in the middle of the Burgundy region in the Cote Chalonnaise near the town of Mercurey. This charming Rully Blanc is fresh and fruity while retaining a Burgundian elegance, a savoury character alongside notes of citrus and honey blossom. With a well-considered and moderate oak influence contributing to a long and delicious finish, we would highly recommend placing this at the top of your everyday go to list!
Joseph Drouhin, a Chablis native, arrived in Beaune at the heart of Burgundy in 1880 and founded the winery and negotiant business which is now in the hands of his four great grandchildren – Philippe, Veronique, Laurent and Frederic. It is believed the area around the town of Rully was cleared by a roman landowner called Rubilius who gave his name to the town which sprung up here. An incredibly versatile wine, this works as a refreshing pre dinner wine or will compliment fried fish, poultry in a creamy sauce or hard cheese such as Comte superbly. 13% ABV.
