Description

The Struie from Torbreck is made entirely from Shiraz grown in two specific vineyards, the first in the Barossa Valley and the other in Eden Valley of Australia. By combining these vineyards Torbreck can produce a wine with both elegance and intensity equally.

TASTING NOTE: deep purple and violet colour. On the nose: notes of plush, and dense black fruits such as plum, and blackberry. On the palate: Full-bodied yet balanced with soft tannin that holds the rich jammy fruits together alongside a background of dark chocolate and subtle spices. 15% alcohol by volume.

FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: While slightly cliched, you can’t go wrong enjoying this with a BBQ; a juicy striploin steak and vegetables, or with marinated, grilled halloumi cheese. Enjoy with a decanting now or keep until 2026.

ABOUT: Torbreck was founded by David Powell, a former lumberjack, in the Barossa Valley area of Southern Australia in 1994. The focus here is on producing wines of exceptional quality using the classic Rhone varieties which were planted here over a hundred years ago, it is these old vines which contribute to the depth and complexity of Torbreck wines. Torbreck is now owned by Pete Kight, an American who also owns wineries in California’s Dry Creek Valley.
