Description
This is 100% Syrah from Cristom, in the Willamette Valley, Oregon. We love these wines for the array of aromas and flavours that are endlessly fascinating to sniff, smell and savour over time!
TASTING NOTE: Rich ruby colour. On the nose: Plenty of meaty red fruits and black pepper spice notes. On the palate: a medium to full body filled with firm tannins, plenty more red fruits, and a hint of mushroom and herbal characters that round out the long finish. 13.5% alcohol by volume.
FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: This wine is a great match to pair alongside harissa roasted beetroot and butternut squash salad with arugula and goat cheese. Drink now till 2027.
ABOUT: Cristom Vineyards was set up in the Willamette Valley in Oregon, by Paul and Eileen Gerrie in 1992 and they are now producing some of the most sought-after wines coming out of the USA. They farm their different vineyards organically and biodynamically and then vinify the wines similarly in the cellar so that the differences in the resulting wines are really down to the unique potential of each vineyard, rather than the hand of the winemaker. They have won frequent awards with critics, and 94 or 95 points with major publications.
