Description
This Pinot Noir is an elegant, light to midweight red from vineyards throughout Burgundy, produced by Joseph Drouhin. It’s an exceptionally good wine for the table, a benchmark Pinot, full of red fruit character (and it looks good too!)
TASTING NOTE: A bright ruby colour. On the nose, this has aromas of red fruits such as raspberry, red currants, and strawberry. On the palate: the wine is medium-bodied with more of the red fruit characters, cherry raspberry, red currant, and strawberry followed by fresh acidity and moderate tannins with a great elegant and refreshing finish. 14% alcohol by volume.
FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: An incredibly versatile wine, this works as a refreshing pre-dinner wine or will compliment fried fish, poultry in a creamy sauce or hard cheese such as Comte superbly. Enjoy now or keep until 2026.
ABOUT: Joseph Drouhin, a Chablis native, arrived in Beaune, the heart of Burgundy in 1880 and founded the winery and negociant business which is now in the hands of his four great-grandchildren, Philippe, Veronique, Laurent and Frederic who each play a different role in helping to grow the family wine companies in Burgundy and USA. With almost 200 acres of vines in Burgundy, they organically farm their own vineyards and purchase grapes from leading growers in the Burgundy region.
