Description

L’Enchanteur de Vray Croix de Gay is produced by Chateau Vray Croix de Gay, a renowned, bijou-sized estate in the heart of Pomerol. The estate has a long history of producing high-quality wines, from the Merlot and Cabernet Franc grape varieties, which thrive in the unique clay terroir of the region. The estate dates to the end of the 19th Century, when it was founded by Joseph Brisson. It’s now in the hands of cellarmaster Thomas Ferran and his team, who also make the wines of Chateau Siaurac nearby, that we’d also wholeheartedly recommend!

Deep and dark red in colour. On the nose: there are ripe red and black fruits such as cherry, blackcurrant and especially plum, alongside spices like cinnamon and clove, and a hint of mocha and cocoa, plus an earthier note of graphite. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied with a silky texture, well-balanced acidity, and fine, moderate tannins. The rich fruit is concentrated and juicy, complemented by subtle oak flavours of vanilla and cocoa. The finish is long with lingering dark fruit and mineral notes. Elegant and structured, this wine will age beautifully over the next 5 years.
