This Rose Champagne is a blend of 40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir and 30% Pinot Meunier from one of the region’s top producers, Billecart-Salmon. This is a benchmark standard for rose that many Champagne houses look up to.
TASTING NOTE: A delicate pink-gold colour. On the nose: Stunning red fruit aromas such as cherry and raspberry with a biscuity charm. On the palate: Medium bodied with a fine mousse and elegant notes of red currants, raspberry and a refreshing pink grapefruit citrus zest. 12% alcohol by volume.
FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: It is a versatile food match working well at any point in your meal as an aperitif, with the likes of sushi and also holding up well to red fruit or citrus flavoured deserts. It’s ready to drink now and will continue to drink wonderfully into 2025.
ABOUT: The house was established in 1818 when Nicolas Francois Billecart and Elizabeth Salmon married and two centuries later it is under the helm of its 7th generation in Francois Roland-Billecart. It is one of the few houses in the Champagne region to remain family-owned. The house rules are that all the Champagne undergoes long fermentations at cold temperatures with no malolactic fermentation. This has helped create this harmonious bubbly.
