Description

This fantastic red Bordeaux blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc is a great value, from Chateau Haut-Rian, using grapes from the Entre-Deux-Mers region of Bordeaux. An everyday drinking Bordeaux that has finesse and flavour too!

TASTING NOTE: Brilliant ruby red colour. On the nose: blackberry, red currants, and ripe cherry from the Merlot, along with notes of vanilla and spice from 6 months’ ageing in French oak barrels. On the palate: Well-structured tannins and a medium body, with plenty more red fruit flavours and a touch of spice from the Cabernet Franc. 13.5% alcohol by volume.

FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: This easier drinking style pairs well with a hearty beef bourguignon or duck cassoulet. This is a classic Bordeaux at a wonderful price! It is great now but will keep till summer 2025 easily.

ABOUT: Settled in the medieval village of Rions, at the heart of Premières Cotes de Bordeaux. Château Haut-Rian is a beautiful, family-owned 85-hectare vineyard. Michel & Isabelle Dietrich decided to settle here 30 years ago after discovering the availability of high-quality and complex soils in the region. Along with their daughter Pauline who runs all day-to-day operations of the winery, the family have been growing and producing wines that are a true reflection of the Entre-Deux-Mers region.
