Description
This red Bordeaux is a blend of 51% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of 9% Petit Verdot.
TASTING NOTE: In the glass this wine is a deep ruby colour, the nose is filled with complex red fruits and a note of cedar spice. The plate is well-balanced and medium to full-bodied, with pronounced red fruit and juicy blackberry, it is wonderfully fresh with hints of liquorice and herbs and a lingering finish.
FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: It pairs very well with classic meat dishes of beef, pork and game, or with a rich tuna dish. Drink now or keep for a few more years, this is one of our favourite left-bank Chateaux, and it never disappoints! 14% ABV.
ABOUT:  Chateau Palmer is located in the Margaux Appellation on the left bank of Bordeaux, it was founded by Charles Palmer in 1814, after purchasing the estate 18th-century estate that had been previously owned by Bordeaux’s noble de Gascq family. Charles, the son of a Bath brewer, and a Major General in the British Army, transformed the Chateau over 30 years by modernizing and creating the foundation for the quality and reputation it still has today. Alter Ego is the second wine to their Grand Vin, giving a superb introduction to both the house style and quality.
