Segla Margaux 2015 HALF (37.5cl)

Red, Bordeaux, France

In stock

A delicious Bordeaux which has had five years of careful ageing and is now coming into its own. Rauzan-Segla’s second wine is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot and 1% of both Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, and with 2015 being an excellent year for Bordeaux, this has fruity aromas of cherry and plum as well as some herbal and floral notes adding to its aromatic complexity. The tannins are firm and smooth, making this very enjoyable and elegant to drink.

Chateau Rauzan is in the Margaux appellation and dates back to the 17th Century, and having moved through various family members, is now owned by Chanel. It was lovingly restored in 1996, which included replacing the large tanks with smaller capacity vats, allowing for a more precise vinification process. They are now moving towards a more organic approach, and started using Shire horses to farm portions of the vineyard in 2012. This pairs well with roast beef or a grilled steak and will still keep for a few years to come. A very enjoyable and approachable example of a classic Margaux chateau. 14.5% ABV.
