Description

This Chardonnay from the Robertson Valley in South Africa shows a delicate nose of lemon, honeysuckle, and ripe peach. The wine is unoaked and was aged on its fermentation lees to give a lovely, delicate creamy, almond note on the palate, with plenty of tropical citrus rounding out the finish. It is a great match with lighter dishes like a chicken Caesar salad, or seared salmon with fresh, grilled asparagus. 13.5% ABV. Enjoy now until the end of 2026.

The De Wet family were one of the earliest settlers arriving in the Cape in 1694, pioneering viticulture in the Robertson region. Located 160km north of Cape Town, the Robertson Valley lies in the hills of the Riviersonderend and Langeberg Mountains where the Breede River turns and flows towards the Cape`s southern coastline. The cold Southern Ocean winds are funnelled up the valley and provide a much-needed break from the heat to the vines during the growing season. Quite high concentrations of limestone are found in the soil, and this makes the area exceptionally great for white grape varieties. Located on the slopes overlooking the Breede River, and under the ownership of Danie de Wet and the management of son Johann, this estate is at the forefront of quality white wine production in the South African Cape.
