Description
This 100% Pinot Noir from the village of Fixin, in the Cote de Nuit of Burgundy, and was produced by Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet. It has all the hallmarks of great Burgundian Pinot Noir with plenty of fruit and a touch of spice, that is always ready to pair with your favourite dish.
TASTING NOTE: A lovely deep ruby colour. On the nose: Smokey and plenty of blackberries, cherry, and ripe plum aromas, followed by some lingering herb notes and spices like cinnamon and clove. On the palate: Medium to full-bodied, with gentle tannins and acidity. More of the fruits and baking spices are present with earthier notes and a hint of bitter chocolate before a long finish. 14% alcohol by volume.
FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: It’s a great match for dishes such as duck breast with crisp roast potatoes, or try it with some fresh vegetarian spring rolls. Traditional local matches are braised pork or steak with parsley/herb sauces, poultry stews (including spiced curries and tandoori), or for after dinner, cheeses such as Comte. Enjoy now until 2025.
