Description
This Chardonnay is a light golden straw colour in the glass, with plenty of vibrant fruit notes on the nose and a hint of a creamy brioche character too. The palate carries plenty more familiar fruit from the nose, such as ripe apple and citrus. There is also the tiniest buttery hint on the palate, along with the classic Chablis minerality and clean acidity. Drink now or keep until Spring 2026.
The property of Domaine du Colombier has been maintained and operated by the Mothe family since 1887, with Guy Mothe specializing in producing wines from the vineyards in 1957, with the sale of the wines taking place many years later. Today Guy’s three sons, Jean-Louis, Thierry and Vincent have taken over and continue to grow and produce wines. This is typical of Chablis producers in that it is a family-run estate (the Mothe and family grow the grapes and make the wines) with a small range of wines at all four quality levels, all from the Chardonnay variety: Petit Chablis, Chablis, Premier Cru Chablis and Grand Cru.
