Description

Made by the Drouhin family of Burgundy, this Pinot Noir is from the Dundee Hills in Oregon state, in the Northwest of the US, an area that has a cooler climate than the majority of California, and is able to produce Pinot Noir with incredible complexity and depth.

TASTING NOTE: This Pinot Noir from the Drouhin estate is fragrant and rich with red and black fruit aromas. There are notes of rose petal, raspberry, dark and sour cherries and black tea. The palate is full and juicy, with lovely Pinot Noir flavour, relatively full body and supple, silky-textured tannins. It’s long and satisfying with delicious red fruit flavour.

FOOD PAIRING, SERVICE AND STORAGE: We enjoyed this with smoked pulled pork or for a lighter alternative; mushroom risotto. This wine is delicious now but will only get better over the next few years.

ABOUT: Joseph Drouhin, a Chablis native, arrived in Beaune at the heart of Burgundy in 1880 and founded the winery and negotiant business which is now in the hands of his four great grandchildren – Philippe, Veronique, Laurent and Frederic. Veronique and her family purchased land in the Oregon area of the USA in the 1980s and have been using their significant knowledge and experience in order to produce acclaimed wines here as well as back home in France.
