Description

A refreshing wine made from a blend of Antao Vaz, Perrum, and Roupeiro grapes from the vast Alentejo region of Portugal. Produced by Herdade de Esporao, It’s filled with plenty of citrus fruit flavours and perfect on a crisp or sunny afternoon!

TASTING NOTE: Bright, lemon-yellow colour.
On the nose: It’s aromatic with a fresh bouquet of white flowers such as jasmine and citrus, particularly lemon. On the palate: Juicy, with apple and citrus characters, medium body with a crisp dry finish from its fresh acidity. 13.5% alcohol.

FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: This pairs well with light tapas dishes and feta. Or try it with delicate grilled sardines with lemon and herbs, and various white fish dishes, with or without lemon or creamy sauces; it’s a very good all-rounder. A fantastic white wine to drink now or hold until the end of next year, at a great price!

ABOUT: Herdade de Esporao (or Esporao for short) is the name of the estate where Monte Velho is made. The vineyards are in the heart of Reguengos de Monsaraz, in the Alentejo region of Portugal. Esporao has been owned by the Roquette family since 1973 but the history of the estate goes back 700 years as its boundaries were first established in 1267. Today Esporao is one of the leading wineries in Portugal and they have over 400 hectares of vineyards, most of which are farmed organically.
