Description
The Little Fine Wine Company is delighted to release its first English still wine, bottled in halves by Flint Vineyard in Norfolk. Flint first caught the company’s attention seven years ago, when it stood out above its peers at white wine tasting competition. Their acclaimed Fumé is an aromatic white reminiscent of Sancerre, with a refreshing 11% alcohol. It’s also a great food wine, think seafood or risottos, with a plate of soft, creamy cheeses to follow!
ABOUT: Flint Vineyard was founded by Head Winemaker Ben Witchell and entrepreneur Adrian Hipwell in 2015. It is based in South Norfolk and is known for producing high-quality dry and Sparkling English wines that emphasise balance, purity, and flavour. Ben’s background was actually in IT before turning to winemaking and viticulture, studying at Plumpton College in Sussex before working in Beaujolais, France. The vineyard benefits from one of the UK’s driest, sunniest climates, ideal for growing expressive fruit that’s processed on-site in their state-of-the-art winery. Today, Flint Vineyard has over 35,000 vines and a reputation for pushing the boundaries of English wine, from its distinctive Charmat sparkling wines to lovely still wines such as this. If you have the chance, visit Flint in Norfolk (close to Earsham and Bungay, and 30 minutes south of Norwich) and enjoy a full tasting at their lovely home amongst the vines. It’s a real treat!
