Description
As is typical with a wine from the Bolgheri area of Tuscany, this is a blend of French varieties Cabernet Franc (60%), Cabernet Sauvignon (30%), and Petit Verdot (10%). The wine opens with notes of blackcurrants, pepper and eucalyptus, with plenty more black and red fruits coming through, that are expected of Bordeaux grapes. The palate is just as expressive with blackberries and spice, and the firm tannins of Cabernet plus mouth-filling berry flavour. This is the most immediately satisfying and fruity of the Gaja wines, ready to drink although you can certainly keep it till 2028/9 in half bottles, if you can wait! 14%ABV.
