Description
Made entirely from Sangiovese Prugnolo Gentile, a clone of the Sangiovese grape, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is the wine of Montepulciano, which lies to the south of Chianti in Tuscany. This is a great example of what this area of Tuscany can do!
TASTING NOTE: Red ruby colour in the glass. On the nose: A mix of berries such as strawberry and dark cherry, a wilder, herby character and hints of tea leaf too. On the palate: It’s medium to full body, with firm tannins but not bitter at all, and is long on the finish with balanced alcohol and the typical intense dryness of the Sangiovese grape. this is a lovely wine with red and black berry fruits, some herbal notes and a full body, tannin and structure from a very warm vintage. 13.5% alcohol by volume.
FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: This wine is an excellent match with a great lamb or beef Ragu or with a vegetarian Bolognese dish. Â Drink now or keep till winter 2026.
