Description
Stoneburn is a lovely Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc at an excellent price, that is made by the renowned Hunter family, who are longstanding and respected winemakers. The vineyard for this wine lies on an old riverbed whose stones retain warmth and give the fruit a high degree of ripeness, hence the name.
The 2023 shows expressive, intense aromatics of herb, citrus/lime and passion fruit. The palate is medium in body with lovely juicy fruit, some citrus and ripe tropical notes, and a dry, refreshing finish. It is unoaked, fruity and youthful, an elegant wine for foodmatching with summer and winter salads, fresh cheeses and tomato-based dishes, as well as green curries.
