Rathfinny Wine

Rathfinny is an impressive, family-owned wine producer in the South Downs National Park, in East Sussex (near Alfriston). Mark and Sarah Driver founded the estate in 2010, converting 200 acres from an arable farm into prime vineyard land. They make superb Vintage Sparkling wines which bear the new Sussex appellation (known as a PDO, or Protected Designation of Origin) on the label.

Unusually for a relatively large producer, all their grapevines are grown in one location, just three miles from the English Channel, and right next to their winery. This ‘single-estate’ benefits from chalk soils that run across the Channel from Champagne, allowing them to grow fine Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, which are harvested and vinified in the winery just minutes later!
