Travel through a fine wine region or style each month with these half bottles, by producers who have forged the vinous way to our hearts. Delicious wines, often made in relatively limited quantities, that really show what the particular region or style is about. The wines can be white, red or a mix depending on the region. Electronic tasting notes and guided, online tastings (a mix of live and recorded tastings) are included, all hosted by our Director and Master of Wine, Vicki. This month’s online tasting is this Thursday 19th February at 8pm. 

MARCH SELECTION: Champagne & Sparkling

First up, we have the delightful Brut Reserve English Sparkling from Gusbourne in Kent. This is a Vintage Sparkling, from the 2021 vintage; with almost six years of age it is tasting beautifully fresh, and typically English with succulent orchard and citrus fruits. It should be a great wine to enjoy, but also to explore the ever-better English wine scene. Next, a classic Champagne from Bernard Robert in the Cote des Bars area of the region. It’s toasty and rounded, and the perfect pick-me-up! We’re then off to Italy for a drier (Brut) style of Prosecco. This is a lovely, food-friendly Organic wine which is deliciously easy to drink, and very far from the mass-market examples. Last but not least is our Marc Bredif Sparkling Vouvray, which is made in the same style as Champagne but from the Loire Valley, and the apple-scented Chenin Blanc grape.

The online tasting is via zoom on Thursday 19th March at 8pm. Further details will be provided on purchase of the case.
