Description
TASTING NOTE: This Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley is a delicate golden colour in the glass and is filled with a powerful tropical fruit bouquet on the nose with the classic flint aroma from the region. The palate is juicy and silky, with a medium body and slight texture that’s followed by a plethora of citrus notes and a long dry and refreshing finish. 13.5% ABV.
FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: Enjoy with fresh seafood, such as clams or crab, or with lighter salads, with candied spiced walnuts.
ABOUT: Founded by Leon Millet in the 1950s, it was Leon’s daughter Denise, and her husband Jean Teillier who developed the domaine. It remains a typical small-production estate in the Menetou-Salon appellation of the Loire Valley, not far from the arguably grander appellations of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume. Today, it is run by Denise’s grandson Jean-Jacques and wife Monique, assisted by their daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Olivier, who have returned to the fold after studying and working in New Zealand.
