Description
An Unoaked, crisp, vibrant, and fresh take on southern Italian Chardonnay from famed Chianti producer Antinori and their beautiful Puglian estate, Tormaresca. A perfect summertime wine for all occasions.
TASTING NOTE: vibrant straw yellow colour. On the nose: Notes of fresh peach and tangerine, with ripe pineapple and papaya. There is also a slight floral character of honeysuckle and orange blossom. On the palate: Light in body with crisp, mouth-watering acidity. Notes of herbs and plenty of ripe fruits. It’s well balanced with a dry, refreshing, delicate, long finish. 12.5% alcohol by volume.
FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: This Chardonnay is produced in an unoaked style and is light, dry and crisp with lovely fruit character. It is great on its own, on the patio or will accompany fresh appetizers, seafood, or cream-based dishes. This wine is best enjoyed now but can be kept until spring 2025.
ABOUT: The Tormaresca vineyards were purchased by the Antinori family (the family who own the Tignanello vineyard in Chianti) in 1998 as they found Puglia to be a promising area to grow top-quality grapes. Their land covers two estates, Masseria Maime (where this Chardonnay was grown) in the Salento region of Puglia, where the total vineyard amounts to 350 hectares of Chardonnay, Primitivo, Negroamaro and Cabernet grapes, and Tenuta Carrubo estate to the west.
