Description
Lacoste-Borie is the second wine of Chateau Grand-Puy-Lacoste, in Pauillac, which has been owned by the Borie family since 1978 and is now run by Francois Xavier Borie and daughter Emeline. The grape blend is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon with 30% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. This 2019 has full, red berry fruit and is luscious and smooth, with a hint of spice from barrel ageing. It’s an impressive Bordeaux with finesse, that is approachable now and cellarable for another couple of years, although we don’t think you’ll want to wait! It also makes a versatile food match. Pop this into a decanter for an hour before serving and it’s lovely and open and expressive. A treat for a roast or Sunday lunch. 14.5% alcohol.
