Description
If we were to pick one region for exciting whites in Italy at the moment, it’s Etna, with superb white wines made on sloping vineyards, under the smouldering volcano! Here, old vines of the white grape Carricante thrive in lava-rich soils. This impressive white was made by Tornatore, one of the oldest winemaking families on Etna, having planted their first vineyard in 1865. In this wine, there are aromas of grapefruit, white peach and subtle herb notes. The grape has very fresh natural acidity, and you’ll also notice citrus and more mineral flavours, which cut through rich dishes, and pair with olive oil, lemon juice, herbs flavourings extremely well.
