Description

At eight years old, the 2017 Brane-Cantenac Margaux is youthful although drinking well, with the fine fruit and spice aromas of great Bordeaux.  It is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (74%), Merlot (21%), Cabernet Franc (4%) and Petit Verdot (1%), made by Henri Lurton team at this esteemed Chateau in Margaux, on the left-bank of Bordeaux. A delicious and impressive wine for matching a main meal, it will drink well now with decanting or keep, and looks great on the table too!

TASTING NOTE: In the glass this wine is a deep red colour with a nose filled with black and red fruit aromas and hints of cedar and herbs. The palate is medium to full-bodied with firm tannins, spice and plenty more fruit notes. It’s a wine that will last for several years in half bottle, till 2032 in half bottle, but can be decanted if you’d like to drink it now, and left to mellow for a few hours before serving. 13% alcohol.

ABOUT: Produced by one of our favourite Bordeaux producers from Margaux, on the left bank of Bordeaux, about 45 minutes northwest of Bordeaux city, close to the Gironde estuary. Henri Lurton manages the Chateau and its vineyards and makes the wines; which demonstrate their quality and finesse every year whatever the weather in Bordeaux, with plenty of flavour, excellent balance of tannin and fruit and potential for ageing, typical of the wines that have made Bordeaux so famous.
