Description
At six years old, this is still quite a young wine, Brane- Cantenac is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (74%), Merlot (23%), Cabernet Franc (2%) and Petit Verdot (1%) In the glass this wine is a deep garnet colour with a nose filled with stewed red fruit aromas and hints of mushroom. The palate is medium to full-bodied with firm tannins, spice and plenty more fruit notes, it’s a wine that will last for several years in half bottle, but can be decanted if you’d like to drink it now, and left to mellow for a few hours before serving. 13.5% ABV.
Produced by one of our favourite Bordeaux producers from Margaux, on the left bank of Bordeaux, about 45 minutes northwest of Bordeaux city, close to the Gironde estuary. Henri Lurton manages the Chateau and its vineyards and makes the wines; which demonstrate their quality and finesse every year whatever the weather in Bordeaux, with plenty of flavour, excellent balance of tannin and fruit and potential for ageing, typical of the wines that have made Bordeaux so famous.
