Description

This Chardonnay from the Mercurey appellation of Burgundy has an attractive yellow colour and intense notes of lychee and pineapple, with subtle spices of anise, clove, and white pepper from 10 months’ ageing in lightly toasted French oak barrels. The palate is rich with a slight buttery note and balanced mineral character. A wine of this style will pair best with soft cow’s milk cheeses and nuts, or butter-poached white fish and fresh garden salad, with a lemon vinaigrette. Enjoy now until Autumn 2023. 13%ABV

Chateau de Chamirey, which overlooks the village of Chamirey in Burgundy, dates to the 18th century. The Marquis de Jouennes d’Herville family, who are now in their 5th generation, made the decision to begin producing and bottling the wines from the domaine in 1934. Today the Chateau is run by Bertrand Devillard, who carries on the work and legacy to extend the domaine to the best terroirs of Mercurey covering over 95 acres, of which 38 of them are located amongst the most established, and renowned Premiers Crus of the appellation.
