Description
This Reserva has been produced using hand-picked grapes only from CVNE’s vineyards located in Rioja Alta. This blend of Tempranillo (85%) and Garnacha (15%) it’s loaded with plenty of red fruits and liquorice with an underlying rich vanilla-spiced character.
TASTING NOTE: A deep ruby red colour. On the nose: Brimming with strawberry, raspberry and plum aromas, clear hints of vanilla, liquorice, and cocoa from ageing in American oak barrels. On the palate: Medium in body and full in flavour, with more ripe red fruits, some earthy notes, and a long finish, with smooth well-integrated tannins. It’s juicy and fruity, with a medium to long berry finish.
FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: This wine is easy to drink on its own, a would benefit from a quick decanting if desired, but is also easily enjoyed with food. This wine would match perfectly with roast lamb or mushroom dishes. Drink now till 2026.
ABOUT: CVNE (CompañÃa Vinicola del Norte de España) is one of the oldest, most trusted estates in Rioja. It was established in the town of Haro, Rioja nearly 150 years ago by the Real de Asúa brothers and remains owned by the 5th generation of the same family to this day. The family now have over 400 hectares of vines in the Rioja Alta area as well as two bodegas in Catalonia.
