Description

TASTING NOTE: A bright, crimson red colour with purple hints. The nose is fresh and aromatic, with expressive, ripe, red and black fruits like blackcurrant, strawberry, raspberry, and cherry, alongside floral/violet hints and subtle herbal and toasted spice notes. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied with a juicy, moreish texture and good flavour concentration. The tannins are soft and velvety in texture, but amply support the fruit, alongside freshening acidity and a long, flavourful, black-fruited finish.

FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: The domaine advise serving their wine slightly cooler than room temperature, at 14 to 16 degrees. For a food pairing, try Charolais steak Beaujolaise, poultry, and white meats, as well as cheeses.

ABOUT: Domaine Andre Colonge is a family estate with a history of growing wine dating back to 1789. Serge, Samuel and Landry Colonge’s estate is based at Lancie in the Beaujolais region of France, which sits just to the south of Burgundy and to the north of the Rhone Valley regions. Their 37 hectares (approximately 90 acres) of land covers different vineyards in the Crus (the best appellations) of Fleurie and Brouilly, plus the broader Beaujolais Villages and Beaujolais appellations.
