A perfect demonstration of why wines from Fleurie are so popular, this wine is medium-bodied, not too heavy but with plenty of character from the Gamay grape variety. The fragrant cherry scent and flavour is unmistakeable. Cedric Chignard is based in Fleurie itself, a well-regarded Cru vineyard area which lies within the larger region of Beaujolais in France.
This wine highlights the floral and fresh fruit aromas, silky texture that the Gamay grape variety from Fleurie is famous for, but also has a rich, almost opulent palate that is a hallmark of the ripe, warm vintage that was 2018 with its hot weather in the summer. The juicy, silky red fruit character will partner well with dishes such as duck confit or grilled tuna steak. 13% ABV.
