Description
This Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley is a delicate golden colour in the glass and is filled with a powerful tropical fruit bouquet on the nose with the classic flint aroma from the region. The palate is juicy and silky, with a medium body and slight texture that’s followed by a plethora of citrus notes and a long dry and refreshing finish. 13.5% ABV. Enjoy with fresh seafood, such as clams or crab, or with lighter salads, with candied spiced walnuts.
Founded by Leon Millet in the 1950s, it was Leon’s daughter Denise, and her husband Jean Teillier who developed the domaine. It remains a typical small-production estate in the Menetou-Salon appellation of the Loire Valley, not far from the arguably grander appellations of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume. Today, it is run by Denise’s grandson Jean-Jacques and wife Monique, assisted by their daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Olivier, who have returned to the fold after studying and working in New Zealand.
