Description

Light, clean, unoaked Burgundy is perfect as an aperitif. This is a good example of a Mâcon Villages wine, whereby 100% Chardonnay grapes are from the southern part of Burgundy, near Beaujolais! This wine has no oak contact thus retaining elegant aromas, and a clean, fresh character accumulated on chalk and limestone soils.

TASTING NOTE: This wine shows floral, apple and citrus aromas with fresh, clean flavours and mineral notes with 12.5% alcohol.

PAIRING AND SERVING IDEAS: This fresh Burgundian wine goes well most fish for instance shellfish, crab cakes or grilled fish, and subtle soft cheeses like Brie. It should be served at 10-12°C and can be aged for another 2 years.

ABOUT: Louis Jadot was founded in Beaune by Louis Henry Denis Jadot in 1859. In slightly more recent times, Pierre-Henry Gagey ran the business for the Jadot family. They then sold to an American wine importing family, the Kopfs, in 1985, and it is now Thomas Seiter who manages things for them. The Jadot brand covers wines from 150+ appellations, from Beaujolais-Villages to Grand Cru Le Musigny, that have excellent distribution all over the world. They restrict their use of all synthetic products (fertilisers, herbicides, etc) on their vineyards soils and concentrate on the preservation of the land for the best possible quality of wines. In keeping with its non-interventionist philosophy, Jadot considers that very great vintages, complete and harmonious by themselves, require minimum contact with new oak.
