Description
With Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet is the other greatest white wine region within Burgundy. Made from 100% Chardonnay, this citrus, honey and oatmeal classic shows why. It’s a versatile wine, great for entertaining, food-matching, or simply as a treat, no company required!
TASTING NOTE: A golden straw colour. On the nose: Plenty of citrus fruits, notes of almond and green apples with a saline minerality. On the palate: Well-balanced with bright acidity, medium to full bodied, creamy with notes of floral, honey, lemon, and oatmeal notes with a long, citrussy, mineral finish. 13% alcohol by volume.
FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: This Chardonnay has plenty of weight and flavour to take on richer chicken and pork dishes if required, try with a hearty chicken or fish pie or with a potato and leek soup. Drink now or keep till Summer 2025.
ABOUT: Colin is a common surname in Burgundy, where Bruno Colin (Philippe Colin’s brother), Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey (his second cousin) and Marc Colin’s three children (also second cousins) all make wine. His vineyards are largely in Chassagne-Montrachet, which is in the Cote de Beaune, a subregion of Burgundy. While red wines are produced, these vineyards are known particularly for their whites, which many rate as the finest whites in the world given the crystalline purity and depth of flavour they can achieve.
