Description
This white wine from the Soave region in North East Italy, just above Verona. Crafted mainly from the Garganega grape (at least 75% of the grape blend in Soave must be from Garganega) and blended with Trebbiano di Soave, the wine has beautifully vibrant notes of apple and citrus fruit alongside refreshing acidity. This is a round and expressive example which shows real complexity with both sweet and savoury characters including marzipan and almond respectively.
Pieropan has been producing wine in the Soave Classico region since 1890 and indeed were the first winery to release a bottle bearing the ‘Soave’ name in the 1930’s. Pioneers of sustainable production, their vineyards have been Organically certified since 2015. The current custodian, Dario Pieropan oversees the winemaking process ensuring quality and continues to innovate, advocating screwcap closures to ensure the freshness of the wine. The low alcohol and easily approachable medium body of the wine will complement both chicken and fish dishes superbly well. 12% ABV.
