Description

Ridge Vineyards based in the Santa Cruz mountains (South of San Francisco) was established in 1962. Paul Draper took up the role of winemaker in 1969 and is still making wines at the winery to this day. Ridge, like other California estates received almost instant praise in the world of wine after California performed so well in the 1976 Judgement of Paris tasting – beating some of France’s most revered wines.  From Dry Creek in Sonoma County, the Geyserville is predominantly from the Zinfandel grape variety along with a small percentage of other mostly French grapes. A full, flavoursome red wine with blackberries, spice, a hint of vanilla from oak and fine tannins to give structure. This is great now on decanting but will last for 10-15 years in half bottle if you have the patience!  14.5% ABV.
