Description
This is a dry, full-bodied but not heavy wine made from 100% Gewurztraminer from the renowned, family-run Alsace producer Trimbach. This is a real character and one that is very hard to replicate!
TASTING NOTE: Soft golden colour in the glass On the nose: lychee and grape aromas alongside rose petals and a touch of freshly grated ginger and other spices. On the palate: It’s full, and intense, with some hints of ginger spice, with more lychee and grapey notes that are followed with a long juicy and flavourful finish.
FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: Try this wine with Asian foods such as Thai curry, a fragrant tagine, or strong cheeses, full-bodied and perfumed. Trimbach recommends pairing it with a local cheese called Munster. Drink now or hold until 2026
ABOUT: If there is one producer to know from Alsace, it’s the Trimbach family. Making wine since the early 1600s, they are still a family business, with at least four members involved, and make delicious wines that give a good impression of the style of Alsace. They are based in Ribeauville and make a classic range of Pinot Gris, Riesling, and Gewurztraminer grape varieties, plus their excellent Grand Cru level Rieslings Clos St Hune and Cuvee Frederic Emile, both easily two of the top ten wines of the region
