Description

Made from lesser-known grapes, of which the main grape is Seyval Blanc, this is a delightfully fresh, English Sparkling from Lyme Bay Winery. This has excellent value and makes for a brilliant midweek treat!

TASTING NOTE: Light golden colour with flecks of green. On the nose: Lively with green apple, lemon and thyme, and a tiny hint of pastry. It has gentle, fine bubbles in the glass. On the palate: It’s crisp and refreshing with a good depth of flavour: more notes of apple and lemon meringue pie and a slight grapefruit pith note. The acidity is medium to high, and the wine has a medium to long, dry-tasting finish. 11% alcohol by volume.

FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: This fresh sparkling wine with plenty of fruit would be a perfect pairing for fresh seafood for which the South West is so famous. We suggest enjoying this wine alongside a warm fish pie and a side of creamy mashed potatoes or a homemade Fettuccini Alfredo with grilled mushrooms. It’s ready to drink now and will continue to drink well until the end of 2024.

ABOUT: Lyme Bay Winery is located in the Axe Valley of Devon, in the south-west of the UK, founded 25 years ago by James Lambert, managing director and head winemaker along with Nigel Howard who saw the potential for England to produce top quality cider and wines. What started as a small company in 1993 has grown into a relatively large winery. Unusually, they don’t own vineyards, instead, they have great contacts with growers across the south of the UK and know exactly where to find the best grapes!
