The Sauvignon Blanc grape excels in Chavignol ‘s rich, limestone soil, giving a crisp edge to the wine`s natural richness.
TASTING NOTE: On the nose citrus flavours and stewed fruits are prominent, with notes of pepper and fresh gooseberry lifting the aromatics. On the palate flavours include melon and ripe lemons in harmony with a crisp, rich mountfeel with a long finish and moderate alcohol of 12.5%.
PAIRING AND SERVING IDEAS: Perfect as an apertif on a summers evening, otherwise will pair excellently with seafood, river fish and goats cheese salads. This Sancerre can be enjoyed young!
ABOUT: Established in the heart of the Chavignol vineyards, just west of the town of Sancerre, Domaine Andre Neveu have made wine for over five decades. The estate seamlessly integrates the traditional methods of Sancerrois wine makers with the best modern equipment. Valérie (André Neveu’s daughter) and her husband now run the domaine that has about 13 hectares of vines of AOC Sancerre red, white and rosé.
