This excellent sparkling wine made by Corinne Seely and Fred Langdale, from their vineyards in Hampshire’s South Downs national park is another excellent addition to the recent rise of superb English wines. Made from Pinot Noir (60%) and Chardonnay (40%), this is uniquely English in style while made in a similar way to Champagne. Fresh and lively acidity supports notes of lemon, a touch of elderflower and tropical fruit such as passionfruit which is balanced against a backbone of brioche and pastry. An elegant and delicate finish with fine fizz, this is a well structured wine which demonstrates why English Sparkling wines are held in such high regard. The citrus notes pair well with both sweet and savoury dishes, we particularly enjoyed this with a light Victoria sponge cake. 11.5% ABV.
