Comprised of grapes picked from a number of Faiveley’s own vineyards throughout Burgundy and also from their partner estates, this is made entirely from Chardonnay. With a brilliant pale green and yellow hue and notes of white flower including Jasmine and Orange Blossom on the nose, this is a bold and generous wine. Well balanced and full of volume, flavours of lemon and honeysuckle are supported with subtle rich buttery notes which pleasantly draw out the finish.
Domaine Faiveley was founded in 1825 by Pierre Faiveley and having remained in the family for seven generations is now managed by Erwan and Eve Faiveley. The estate comprises vineyards in many of the most prestigious appellations throughout Burgundy and with an uncompromising focus on quality they are ensuring the families heritage and traditions continues to be instilled within their wines. The Bourgogne Chardonnay spends between 8 -10 months in Faiveley’s cellars and a small portion undergoes barrel ageing. We think this is a superb value introduction to Burgundian Chardonnay and would recommend trying it alongside a fish terrine or white fish dish. 13% ABV.
