Description
This rich, mellow Tawny Port has been aged for ten years by Quinta do Infantado at their estate in Pinhao, in the Douro. Quinta do Infantado are a historic producer with a history dating back nearly two hundred years. They produce their Ports from different varieties, exclusively using grapes from the best vineyards classified as ‘Class “A”‘.
TASTING NOTE: This is a fortified wine and as such is 20% in alcohol, but this is barely noticeable given its full, smooth-textured palate and abundance of fig, date, raisin spice and brazil nut flavours that make this such an indulgent treat.
FOOD PAIRING, SERVICE AND STORAGE: It’s sweet but not cloying, and is a great drink at the end of a meal, or for food-matching, try with nut-based desserts and creamy cheeses, or fruit and nut platter. 20% ABV.
ABOUT: Quinta do Infantado are historic producers dating back nearly two hundred years. Founded in 1816 for Infante D. Pedro (the future King of Portugal and Brazil), it has remained in the possession of the Roseira family for over a century. Today the family continue the legacy of this great estate, located in the unique terroir of Vale de Gontelho, deep in the Douro Valley. The particularly sunny aspect of the vineyards is matched by the cooling breezes providing a great place to make port
