Weingut Selbach-Oster is a family-owned winery situated in the renowned Mosel region of Germany, one of the country’s premier wine-growing areas. With a history spanning over 400 years, the family has been crafting exceptional Riesling wines since the 18th century. Today, Barbara and Johannes Selbach continue the tradition, overseeing the winery and its operations.
TASTING NOTE: The Weingut Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett is a crisp and refreshing white wine, perfect for chilling down and drinking over the warmer months. It has vibrant aromas of green apple, lime, passionfruit, and stone fruit. On the palate, it is fresh, appley and mouthwateringly juicy, with flavours of green apple, citrus, and a touch of minerality. It has a touch of sweetness but is still a white wine for an aperitif, starter or main course (it’s not a sweet/dessert wine style), and has lovely fresh acidity to balance the finish and ensure that it is elegant and fine, and not at all heavy. 9% alcohol only.
FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: This riesling pairs perfectly with oily fish, spicy seafood or veggie curries or seafood dishes. Serve around 7-9 degrees.
ABOUT: One of Austria’s most renowned grape growers, the estate is situated on the River Mosel and has been growing Riesling for 400 years. These grapes are grown on the steep slate slopes of the Mosel river valley.
