Stock up this September!
We’ve picked out 12 wines in half bottle (37.5cl size) that will suit the start to Autumn perfectly, from a juicy, fruity red such as Esporao Monte Velho Tinto (2 halves) to Altugnac’s Pinot Noir, fresh and a with touch of spice (x2), and then the fuller, richer Rustenberg ‘John X Merriman’ Bordeaux blend (x1), from South Africa. They are great to have on hand.
For the whites, we have chosen the refreshing and lively Pieropan Soave Classico (x2). Plus, a lovely Burgundy, a Macon by Terres Secretes, full of citrus and stone fruit notes (x2). Then there is a truly unique wine from the Dolomite mountains, Cuvee Terlaner from Cantina Terlano (x1). It’s fresh but with more weight for food-matching, and to complete this white medley.
To round off the selection there is a sparkling Cremant d’Alsace, which is perfect for storing in the fridge and opening to celebrate impromptu occasions, and a wonderfully ripe, full Tavel Rose from Chateau d’Aqueria. This is perfect for Autumn is it is full-flavoured and can be enjoyed with many dishes that would usually overpower a rose.
