Description
Made in a ‘Super Tuscan’ style (meaning grapes not traditionally permitted in Tuscany are used in the blend) from meticulously selected Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah grapes, Il Bruciato was made to be an approachable wine and to match well with a diversity of foods. This inky deep red wine is immediately fruity on the nose with notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, herb, and the tiniest hint of woodsmoke. The full-bodied palate is packed full of blackberry, clove and white pepper with perfectly balanced tannins, incredibly smooth and moreish!
This delicious Tuscan wine was created at the Tenuta Guado al Tasso estate in the tiny but reputable Bolgheri DOC on the Tuscan coast, southwest of Florence. The estate dates back to the 1600’s and was inherited in 1931 by Carlotta Della Gherardesca Antinori (Piero Antinori’s mother) and her sister. Bolgheri was only made a DOC in 1994 but in its short history it has developed quickly to become internationally recognised. We enjoyed this paired with dishes such as game ragu or warming casseroles. 14.5% ABV.
